The Children’s Chapel Ministry at St. John’s nurtures young hearts and minds through a joyful, age-appropriate experience of our Anglican tradition. Children from pre-K through 5th grade join us as we help them foster spiritual growth within our three pillars—faith, worship, and prayer—while cultivating a foundation of love for God and community.

Our ministry focuses on:

  • Age-Appropriate Worship: Children gather for lively songs, interactive Bible stories, and prayers tailored to their developmental stage. Younger and older groups split for activities that engage their unique curiosities and abilities.

  • Liturgical Foundations: Through simplified liturgies, children learn the rhythms of worship—scripture, song, and sacrament—preparing them to fully participate in the life of the church.

  • Intergenerational Connection: Children rejoin the congregation during Communion, uniting the entire church body in shared sacrament and celebration.

A Typical Sunday
After checking in downstairs, children sing, laugh, and pray together before diving into age-group sessions. Leaders guide them through Bible storytelling, creative responses (art, drama, or discussion), and prayers that nurture their relationship with Christ. The service culminates as children process into the sanctuary to receive Communion alongside their families and the wider parish.

Join Us
All children (pre-K through 5th grade) are invited to participate in this vibrant ministry! No prior registration is required—simply bring your child downstairs to the Children’s Chapel area before the service begins. Volunteers are background-checked and trained to ensure a safe, enriching experience.

For questions about curriculum, volunteer opportunities, or accommodations for children with specific needs, contact the St. John’s church office.
